If you are using a web interface only for Twitter and following a large number of people, the following programs will make it easier for you to make sure you do not miss your SWAS alerts. All programs are quick, easy, and free to set up on your computer. You must first download Adobe Air before you add either program. Adobe Air is free to download and located here. We have used both programs with SWAS and experienced little trouble with either.

TweetDeck Seesmic

Once you have either program installed on your computer, set up a separate column for SWAS alerts, where you might also to add both the CDC and the Homeland Defense Department's emergency Twitter accounts as well.
