SWAS service is provided on an as-is-and-as-available basis, and is not affiliated with twitter.com, or the National weather service. SWAS uses feeds provided by the USGS and the NWS and like any other Internet service, SWAS should not be your sole source of reporting in weather emergencies.

Take the watches you receive from SWAS as a notice it’s time to monitor all available sources for any weather warnings or updates. We strongly advise everyone using SWAS to add a state feed when you are monitoring a city feed from SWAS, and if your location borders on another state it is highly advisable that you monitor the bordering state on SWAS as well.
